My name is Chris da Cruz, and I’m standing to represent you as a councillor for Carshalton South and Clockhouse in the forthcoming by-election on Thursday 22nd May.
I’ve lived in this ward for almost 31 years and care deeply about the place we all call home. As a long-term resident, I’ve seen our community evolve, and I understand both its unique character and the challenges we face.
Over the years, I’ve been actively involved in our community. I serve on the Carshalton-on-the- Hill Residents’ Association committee, volunteer with the Clockhouse Tech-Café to support older residents with technology, and take part in local conservation work with the Friends of Queen Mary’s Park and Stanley Park.
I’ve helped organise community street parties and planting events, including the planting of over 1,000 bulbs around the ward. Through local WhatsApp groups and day-to-day conversations, I regularly hear from residents about the issues that matter to them.
If elected, I will:
- Support cleaner, safer streets and champion our local parks and green spaces
- Listen to your concerns and take real action on issues like speeding, congestion and fly-tipping
- Work to expand local services that support community wellbeing, including social and tech-based initiatives for older residents
- Be a strong and approachable advocate for our community in the Council chamber
I believe our area deserves a councillor who is visible, rooted in the community, and ready to take action. I would be honoured to represent you and work on your behalf.
I hope I can count on your support on Thursday 22nd May.
